It feels like it's been an age since I last posted! I've been working busily on two speed-builds for Matthew and myself from the game, Skylanders. I debuted Jet Vac on Sunday for the Autism Awareness Day walk in Melbourne, with a group of friends that also cosplayed Skylanders characters. Matthew was unfortunately sick so didn't make it, but he will debut Chop Chop this coming weekend at Supanova.
There's still a few things to add/fix, such as his toes and his vac pack; I ran out of time, and my original idea for the toes didn't work so I have to come up with a solution before the weekend. The costume was made using EVA foam for the most part. My first time working with foam, as well as my first time making heads for a costume! The feathers are all made from sheets of fun foam, and his beak is several layers of EVA foam that I sculpted into shape with a dremel. The heads were definitely the most challenging part of the build and I had to rebuild each head 3 times before I got it right
. But, I think it paid off and I'm quite pleased with the end result. I'll also post the process of how I went about building his head.
