Maria's Dagger

So again, sorry for super crap quality of the image. And uh, well I took this after the con (the pre-con photo is blurry alas) and the paint was still slightly tacky so it is all scuffed and has prints all over it. My bad for ultra crappy paint job - I used a spray paint, which I'm not really use to using and obviously put too many coats on without letting it dry enough between. That'll also learn me for painting it the day before the con!

I will end up stripping this paint off and starting again because it looks woeful. We decided not to cosplay on the second day of OzComicCon because of the crowd size (it was ridiculous and we could hardly move), so it wasn't really a priority to fix and I desperately needed to sleep.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how the shaping and sculpting turned out. Not sure I'll use spray paint again (or maybe I'll just get Matt to paint it), but obviously my estimation of 'quick dry' is different to the paint company

I did start to make a scabbard for the dagger because I thought just hanging it off my belt wasn't the safest, but time was against me and I don't know when I'll cosplay as the Assassin's Apprentice again.
